Sculpture

Playtime

Demonic babies cast in plaster play in a utility tunnel. A playful display of childlike innocence juxtaposed with supernatural features, broken pieces, and an industrial environment.

Tension

A carved hand made of basswood and metal wire that requires the wearer to push against it in order for it to stay on the wearer’s arm.

A Pelike Through Time

Variations on a study of ceramic vessels created by Josiah Wedgwood based on an ancient Greek attic pelike. 1/4 of the vessel was 3D modeled, then a plaster cast was made from the 3D print and the product was slip cast.

Carnage of a Native Environment

A piece about the havoc wreaked by the invasive emerald ash borer beetle on the native ash tree. Inspired by the destruction of the 7 trees in the backyard of my childhood home. Made with plywood, ash branches, and cast aluminum.

Outreach

A 7 foot tall metal sculpture that is an abstraction of a human form with its arms outreached. Despite looking steady and robust from the front, when viewed from the side it gives the illusion of being frail and off balance.
